About me
Gri Saex is a multidisciplinary artist and storyteller whose journey carries her from the Dominican Republic to New York, and into Western Massachusetts—a place she now holds as home in spirit and practice. In Springfield, she continues to grow as a student of life, shaped by her many roles as teacher, counselor, healthcare interpreter, mother, friend, and community advocate.
Her work lives where art meets care. Through poetry, clay, collage and painting, Gri shapes stories that hold memory, resilience, and transformation. She studied Spanish Literature and Art, yet it was not until 2020 that she fully stepped into her artistic voice, allowing creativity to surface as refuge, revelation, and return.
Rooted deeply in community, she serves as a Resident Advisor with The Healthy Air Network and contributes to the Climate Change and Health Equity Committee with Live Well Springfield. She is a member of the Writing Sisters, and a board member of A Queen’s Narrative.
As a founding member and facilitator of Somos Semillas, an immigrant-led storytelling collective, Gri cultivates spaces where stories are not only told—but witnessed, held, and remembered. Her published work reflects her belief that art is a living seed: carried between hands, growing into connection, healing, and collective possibility.
